Default Avant roof rack

My 02 A6 Avant has the roof rails, but no crossbars. Are crossbars available from Audi or would I be better off attaching Thule,Yakima etc. crossbars? I want to attach a ski rack, but don't want it to look like a pig.
Any help appreciated.

Yes Audi does make base bars, check out http://www.audipartssuperstore.com/c...roducts_id=146, you mineaswell go with Audi brand for superior fit and quality, designed by Audi, for Audi's.

Disagree...go with the best..THULE..I have had these systems on 2 audis and other vehicles and by far they are the best quality, the most durable, carry the most weight, last the longest, have the best selection of attachments etc. They also cost more than any other aftermarket but still less that factory. You wont be dissapointed. With the front valance it really looks sharp on the car.

True, I would agree in full, Thule definitely makes the best rack systems, allthough 180 for factory (from provided site) and about 250-300 for Thule, not much of a diffrence really. I was thinking of getting bases for my Avant as well, but i don't think they look that great on the A6, too choppy, it just looks so slick with just the silver rails, and there is more than enough room for me to but to put boards in the back, so decided aginst.
