so last night i did my weekly fluid check, and i noticed the oil was real low. so i looked underneath, and sure enough, oil all over the engine cover. so first thing i did was took it to the stealer to diagnose the problem (because around here most mechanics are real dishonest and/or don't know wtf theyre doing) so a $140 diagnostic fee (tax included) later i get the "good news". oil pan is cracked (est. $450.00 plus tax). And they also said that i should replace the cam tensioner seals because of high mileage and theyre leaking a little... (est. "only" $1400.00) needless to say i was "psyched". So i took it to my family's friend in the city (about an hour away) knowing that he's reputable. and it only cost me $200 to do the oil pan and since he's a friend he showed me how to do it for future reference. I also decided to change my serpentine belt. so lesson learned...again.. don't do it at the stealer. lol
