Unhappy Ball joint, control arm question, not happy face...

hey guys, had some fun when i put my a6 up on my lift and realized that a few of the lower ball joints were completely shot. i'm looking at ordering parts right now, but i don't know which ones to order because i don't know 100% whether or not my car has the sport suspension. i bought it used, and it has the sport interior and sport wheels, but i'm not sure if someone might have swapped them out earlier in it's life. is there any definitive way to tell so that i know which ones to order? really need to get this done soon because it's probably going to start snowing here soon and i can't keep driving my corvette.

thanks in advance to everyone,
mike

The car codes, which include the suspension codes, are in your maintenance log (with the car manual) are on the inside of the spare wheel well. Check either of those places and look for 1BE, 1BA (i think), or 1BY, etc. There are a few more, but I don't have my Bentley with me at work. 2ME, 2MC ??? are for the RS6. I just looked through that last night too and I can't remember! I'll repost later on when I get home.

well i just went ahead and ordered the sport "heavy duty" ones. i'm almost positive that mine has the sport suspension because it rides much stiffer than any other a6 i've ever been in. i'm assuming that the only difference is the bushings, because the actual arms look completely identical. i guess we'll see when they get here, but i ended up getting the lower left front and lower right front and rear control arms for $368 shipped, so i'm pretty happy about that. dealership wanted almost $290 a piece! and then the parts guy couldn't even tell me the difference between the sport ones and the regular ones.

The "sport" ones have, I believe, larger ball joints in the lower front. You won't know what you have until you take them apart.
