Basic Towing Help
A hitch is the thing that attaches to the frame of the Audi and has a ball for the trailer or tow bar. A trailer has wheels, the thingy wingy goes on the trailer, and the trailer has a socket that goes on the ball. A tow bar connects solidly to the frame of the thingy wingy and has a socket for the ball. With a tow bar the thingy wingy follows the car on it's own wheels, but the TWingy must have a positive neutral or you'll screw up the transmission. If the TWingy can't go 60-70 MPH on it's own wheels you'll have to use a trailer. I any case I'd go the trailer route if I were you.
I was planning to use a hitch to pull the trailer that would have the ATV on it.
Would something like this do:

Another question. I guess I would have to put a number plate and brake/indicator light on it. How do I connect the light from the trailer to the Audi?

yes something like that would do - You need to make sure the hitch has the capacity to pull the trailer you are using and the trailer is rated for the load you will be carrying. as for the lights - you can get adaptors for the Audi wiring system that will allow you to connect the trailer lights. I
It dosen't sound as if you have a lot of Automotive knowledge/experience so it is best if you find a trailer sales guy near you. He can leasd you through the hitch, wiring issues, etc.
