does the bentley's manual have really good step-by-step instructions or is the cd-rom more step-by-step?

i found a 200-2001 a6 2.7t specific bentley's paper repair manual. is there a difference between the repair manual and the service manual?

 

modset i posted about this also ,,jeffla answered and advised 2 buy the bently manual ,i ordered thru books a million for 59.95 and i think it is listed as a service manual ,,,i should have it on monday and will look thru it and advise

The Bentley Manual CD version is pretty good. It does include a ton of info on how to take things apart in the A6, and also includes wiring diagrams, coding istructions for various control modules, etc.

You can buy the CD version from bimmerzone.com for about $65 plus shipping.

It is not perfect (a few omissions and inaccuarcies), but overall a great resource for your A6!!!

 

modset sorry 4 delay ,,book showed and got stuck working doubles ,,,,looked thru and jeffla is correct looks good and detailed ,,so far lots of good info ,,for me i think it will work and the price is right ,,my 2 cents

 

got my bentley service manual and it didn't really give the info that i need on cam chain tensioner/gasket repair that i wanted. is the factory repair manual more in depth? does anyone know from experience?

 

what engines run the chain versus the belt ?
