RE: Best brake Pads on a A6???
Aslo do the fuel filter, cabin filter. Use Mann or Mahle for ALL filters. Make sure you use the correct coolant, Audi/VW specific.
Plugs & wires? Flush and replace brake and power steering fluid. Power steering fluid is Audi specific (Pentosin), mineral oil based.
Brake fluid is DOT4

Rene, the G12 is correct. I think it is red/pink in color. As far as pads go, I have yet to replace mine, but I would go with a OEM pad unless your driving demands a high performance pad.
What oil & filter did you purchase? Are you going with the synthetic oil? You should also do a tranny flush. That may need to be done by a professional since there is a special tool to remove and replace the fluid.

Rene, if you can, dump the Bosch filter and go with Mann or Mahle. The Mann & Mahle are of much higher quality than the Bosch. The Castrol oil is fine, just make sure on the bottle it references the VW 500 / 502. I used the syntec 5w40 which is for audi/vw
The tranny uses a synthetic oil as well, but it is hard to do maintenance because of how the fill plug is. I am not sure if there is a filter to be changed as well. If you can find a good indi audi mech or high quality tranny shop have them do the service.

Rene,
I use Mobile One Synthetic on my 98 A6 and have never had any mechanical problems. As far as the filter I've been using STP and Bosch ones but I think I may start using Mann or Mahle filters.
Good luck on all that work[8D]
