What's good everyone. I'm new to the Audi world. I've had an '05 A6 4.2L for a few months and I'm always getting egged on in a street race (3W 1L so far)... From a red light would I be faster in automatic, using the tiptronic, or driving in Sport mode?

 

I have owned my 05 4.2 for 4 years. lf you want to race the car here is the launch sequence as summarized from the European manual for the car.

1. Do not start the car with the Advanced Key, use the traditional ignition key
2. Shift the car into "sport mode"
3. Depress the ESP key for 4 seconds until all anti-skid computer programs are off
4. With your left foot on the brake depress the gas pedal to the floor with your right foot (the rpms will top out at 2,300)
5. When light turns green take your left foot of the brake and hold on.

Until you turn on the esp or turn off the car it will stay in launch mode and you need to do is repeat step 4.
