Default Boost gauge recommendations.

I know there are a number of different boost gauges out there to choose from, but does anyone have anything that looks like it is stock? I know A-pillar pods are out due to the airbags, and I'm not a huge fan of the column mounts as I think they block other gauges. What about that air-vent mount - anyone have experience with that one in an A6 or do they only work in the A4?

How difficult is the gauge to install? Is there a kit that comes with everything I need along with good instructions, or will I be pulling my hair out within 30 minutes of starting such a project?

There's the Autometer back gauge face one. I have one in mine right now and it came with a green and red bulb cover so when the lights are on it shows the red light, justlike the stock gauge lights.
As for install, it took 45 minutes if your mechanically inclined. As for mounting, I used velcro to attach it on my trim in from og my steering wheel. The A4 vent gauge will not work for the A6, it's a different set up. I was in the same situation as you when looking for a gauge pod. No luck regardless if it looks alike. A4 doesn't work on an A6

I had a Defi on my 3000GT VR4. Worked well and matched the factory guages on that car. Whatever you choose, I'm a big fan of the integrated look, but that's just me.
Of course, you could gofor the combined guage/controller units that are out there...

I had a Vr-4 too! Too funny! I know another former Vr-4 owner who switched to a B5 S4.

Kievskiy- That is a sweet boost guage (the new one). Please give some details!
