Bose Radio Code - 2nd Owner

Bose Radio Code - 2nd Owner
First off let me begin by saying my Bose radio system works fine - but my fear is that eventually, inevitably - I will need to disconnect the radio and/or the battery and then it will be asking for the code. The thing is - I'm the second owner and don't have the code. The little card that held the code was torn out of the users manual and is nowhere to be found, therefore I have no idea how to obtain it. (And no I do not know the first owner or have their contact information to ask)
My question is, can the Bose system somehow "tell" me the code since it is fully functional or can I reset the code to a new code? Other than paying the dealer to do this - is there another option?

RE: Bose Radio Code - 2nd Owner
The battery on my Audi died yesterday. The Bose head unit says SAFE when I turn it on. Does it need to go to dealer to be reset? Or does this code (which I do not have) reset the Bose Radio?

^^^Yeah you need to code to take it out of safe mode.
Like i posted before, if you have the tools to pull it out, post you VIN and AUZ serial number and i can give you the code.

RE: Bose Radio Code - 2nd Owner
I took in it for the radio at a local Audi/VW repair shop and the guy asks if I have any of the service records. I hand him the stack that the previous owner had. The repair sheet that dealt with replacing the battery had the code at the top so that the tech would not have to go searching for it. So if you lost your code check the old records and see if the code is written at the top.
