Default brake bleed without bleeding the abs?

I removed the abs controle module and also removed the pump as a whole to get it rebuilt.

I recently learned that i'll have to use a vag-com and bleed the abs pump...What will happen if i dont do that right away? will it burn out the pump? I'd imagine that there may just be some air in the abs system but will it still work correctly just not up to 100%?

I have a 2000 a6 2.7t

The pump is designed so you don't have to manually pump it with the vag com, you will however need a pressure bleeder to push the fluid through the block. Older models (pre 96) need to have the ABS block cycled. You can buy a manual pressure bleeder from ECStuning or many other sites that attach to the master cylinder. Another thing, you would want to bleed at least a 1/4 liter through each of the four bleeders on the car, do it in this sequence, right front, left front, right rear, left rear.

BavAuto.com sells an excellent pressure bleeder with catch bottle for about $65. I have used it on my Mercedes, Porsche and BMWs it fits the standard screw on cap of the Master cylnder. PN: PB03K

Default Trouble bleeding abs pump

Hi, I thought that if the pump went completely dry, you need to bleed by using the Vag Com? I have a 2006 A6. The Ross Tech website has a procedure for it. I followed the procedure and am getting an error code "Group 002 Not Available."

I have no brake pedal and bleeding the old fashion way pumping the pedal is not pushing any fluid through.

All four wheels are off the ground. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
