Default Brake light Symbole on Dash

Hi
I have a stange problem, I have the "check brake lights symbol" on at all time, the brake lights seems to be working fine.
this warning will now not go when i start the car and is continuously on.
Any help would be appreciated.

You should check the bulbs. Some might have dual filaments and one could be burnt.

I agree, but if he already checked the brake lights properly, he would could easily see a burnt out filament (the brake light wouldn't illuminate).

To make sure things are clear, the brake lights are dual filaments. When the accessory/ignition is on, and the lights are illuminated, the rear tailights will be on. When you press the brake, the secondary filament will illuminate and the light will become brighter. Remember that this is a two person operation. One person must be in the car to depress the brake pedal, and another person has to be outside inspecting the brakelights. Both should illuminate properly.

If the problem persists, the only solution I know of is to take a trip to the dealer and have them inspect it. No guarantee they will be able to locate the electrical gremlin.

Or you could just set a brick or weight against / on the brake petal.

That would work too! If its easier for you to find a brick/weight than a human!
