Default Break Pad Sensor

I purchased new pads since I want to change my brakes.
One of the pads have a broken what looks to be the sensor's tab.
Haven't changed the brakes yet, so I would like to find out if that tab is important or not, send the set back or not.

I would send it back. I think that tab holds the sensor in place.

Yeah it holds the connector in place, but it really shouldn't affect how it works. It just snaps into a bracket around the caliper and keeps it from spinning around.

Thanks guys. Actually I had the pads off when replacing the bearings, but didn't pay much attention to the wear sensors.
It sounds like I will send them back.
I appreciate your help.

Yes, I did Actually I had two mugs with some Baileys in it - I was like a yo-yo all day.
Too bad it started raining and is cold now....freaking go figures; the whole last week the weather was perfect, and now when I got the parts I cannot work on the brakes
