Angry brake problem!

i have a 2001 a6 2.7t with 105k i bought the car about 3 months ago for a modest price. the front rotors and pads were replaced in December and now i have a horrible break squeal mainly from the passenger side and sometimes the drivers side. i tried taking the pads out and saw they were audi/vw pads (thought they were cheap pads and possibly worn out already) so i put disk break quiet on the back of the pads, that did not help! only squeals under light to medium break pressure anything above medium does not squeal. and help would be great thanks!!

First off, it's "brake".

And unless you actually have a problem with pads/rotors (like they are rubbing metal, etc - but i suspect that is not the problem since they are relatively new), then you have to realize that squealing for brakes is fairly common for certain pad compounds - it does not mean that there is necessarily something wrong with your braking system. Personally, i opt-in (ie. install them myself) to get nice brake pads that are made not to squeal (akebono).

I apologize for the spelling I was in a bit of a rush, I understand that some brake noise is to be expected. But I believe that it is excessive, almost ear piercing when coming to a complete stop. When changing the pads are shims required? I looked on the service record and it did say pads and shims but when I initially took the pads off I didn't notice any shims. Thanks for your help.

Oh come on give the original poster a Break. Just because he made a spelling mistake.

Were the anti rattle springs still on the brake calipers? If not that could be the source of the noise.

+1 on that Here is a off question the squeal is from the front correct?

I am old and sometimes cars make noise and I have no idea where it is coming from.
