busted clip on temp sensor
i am sure people have had this happen
busted the clip off clean trying to remove the temp sensor in my 2.8
it is the old black one at least had the sense to stop and put it all back till i get a clip
sensor is wedged with no way to get out now
any suggestions on how to approach when the new clip comes in ?

Sorry to hear you busted the clip. Congrats on making it go 400k.
Anyways, I made a DIY for the coolant temperature sensor a while back when I did mind. https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...or-diy-178581/
Basically, you'll want to remove whatever is left of the clip using pliers etc (should be easy). If I recall, the clip is grooved so you'll need to pull it straight back. Then wiggle the coolant temperature sensor up and out, it won't be easy, but it'll come. Make sure you get the o-ring out too.
For others reading, this is a good reminder to be sure that you order the clip for a couple bucks more. See the DIY for part numbers. Of course it could be different for your model.
