Default To buy or not for 16 yr old...

Good Morning all,
New to the forums...

I have a 2012 S5, the wife has a 2018 Q7, so clearly we like the whole Audi thing...

Our independent service shop, Europro, who has dealt with my S5 all the time, has just begun to sell cars.
He has a 2006 A6 wagon for $7 k USD. It will be his first sold car. Fully loaded with stuff like Adaptive cruise control...
It has 140,000 miles, one owner. But the engine blew about 10k miles ago, and the owner of the service center put in a 'new, low mile (50,k) engine. He has driven it on two road trips for about 10k miles since.

He is willing to give me a 'soft' warranty of about 20k miles- ie half price if stuff breaks.

So the question: to buy or not to buy for a first car for our 16 yr old boy... ?

sooooo, your that family on the block, The Uppity's! Besides being viewed as the hoity-toitys in the neigborhood, heck yeah buy a 16 year old a $40K when new sports car that many working adult men still can't afford!

This is just a jealous man who had a bus pass at 16! It seems like you are doing okay with money and can afford any future repairs and maybe you haven't been hit by the Audi gremlins but when they attack they will be very expensive! If he wants to learn how to be mechanically inclined I hope he is bright and can focus on working on the car because they will be some very detailed and complex repair/replace jobs with a high learning curve. Unfortunately for us shade tree mechanics, the Audi engineers built these cars like trophy wives: pretty but expensive to keep happy!

Yeah why not. Anyone who is saying no is just jealous. Of course u want it to be something that will not break down as we all know how much it costs to repair an Audi. My first car was an Audi A4 when I was 17 turning 18 in about a week and I had no problems what’s so ever with it. I don’t get why people are against getting Audi’s as a first car, as u stated it will not be a brand new one(if it was it would be a different story) and as long as u believe it will be reliable enough why not.
