You probably get this kind of question lots. But I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a '08 A6 2.7 TDI Multitronic Le mans Saloon.

I've read lots of reports about unreliable multitronic/DMFs etc but are there any specific major flaws with the later plates. There seems a horde of issues with plates till about 56 reg. However i'd like to get feedback and opinions on the newer range.

We don't have much experience with the TDI over here. I do like the idea of owning a saloon. Do you keep the booze under the bonnet or in boot? Good luck and cheerio.

If you check with my wife, she'll tell you I am more of an a$$hole than a jerk. And we still don't hae many Audi TDIs here. They tend to have petrol - I mean gasoline - engines.
