I have a 2000 A6 2.7t stageII+ that i hit a deer with in January. To my surprise, the insurance company totaled the car. they priced the wreck at a reasonable price that was much much less than the cost of the upgrades on the vehicle which are unharmed.

i have been looking for another 2.7t to swap my mods to and hopefully pick up a new pair of turbos since i suspect one of mine was packing it's bags, but they aren't very plentiful in my area for the price i'm looking to pay, which is $5k. i have a couple leads, but nothing i'd call solid, and most of the cars have body damage, which would kind of defeat the purpose.

however 2.8's are plentiful and within range of my insurance payoff (minus deductible and cost of the wreck). what issues might i run into swapping my entire 2.7t 6spd drivetrain into a 2.8 tiptronic?
