Default A6 fmic

I did some searcing on here and I couldn't find any threads which discuss the a6 2.7t and a FMIC install. On JHM they have a full kit but I can't tell if you can spare the foglights. I know that the S4 really can't spare them but how about on the a6? What if I got clever with silicone hose?

You have two FMICs, why would you want only one?

no the 2.7 doesn't have front mounts, it has side mounts. I figure I can either go with the super mambo side mounts that are out there and spend an arm and a leg, or I can get a good front mount, have more cooling capacity, and spend a fraction of the afore mentioned option. I like my foglights though

I was also just thinking about the shrouds for the SMICs. It makes perfect sense that they try to channel as much air as possible over the surface of the intercooler for maximum effect. When a FMIC is placed it doesn't get that same airflow dynamic. Has anyone tried to make a shroad for the lover drill of the a6? Maybe not something that totally covers the front of the intercooler, but just a scoop like thing that throws that air up into the radiator area for more airflow.

I can sort of envision something home brewed from plastic that was heat shaped and maybe riveted in place. thoughts?

You have a Honda based definition of intercooler locations. There is nothing in front of the Audi intercoolers, therefore they are front mount.

A good upgrade is to replace your inner fender liners with S6 liners which have vents to allow more airflow through. The next best upgrade is a water sprayer.

But, then again, why? The A6 is a big soft sedan, not a race car. It will never be fast. It weighs too much.

my goal is to have a 10 pound to 1 horsepower ratio in my a6. This is easily accomplished by crossing the 400hp benchmark. The car doesn't weigh 6 tons, it only weighs 400 more pounds than an s4. Can an s4 be fast with with a full load of passengers after a few mods? How about the c5 RS6? Is that a big soft sedan?

besides, think about the route the piping makes for the stock intercoolers. Then look at the piping that a FMIC from say JHmotor and consider that the air pathway is less restricted and follows a straighter path (by that I mean fewer airflow direction changes).

now back to the original question. Does anyone know if you have install a FMIC on the c5 a6 2.7t without having to remove the foglights?
