Default C5 A6 Tiptronic issues and more, Help Needed...

Hello, Just found this forum, and hopefully it'll be of great help!

I recently bought a 1998 V6 DOHC Tiptronic A6. And everything was working fine, t'ill the day i installed an Aftermarket Radio in it.. Then all the problems occurred ; Limp Mode, Tip tronic failure, and (N110 , from the looks of it)

So fixed the Limp mode, by replacing my Mass Air Flow, And still trying to figure out what would be the cause of my other 2 problems..

I've scanned my Audi with Vag-com, and 1 error found 00526 which is my Brake Light Switch, but from the series of test i did.. i really doubt this is the cause of my problems.. All my lights are functioning, and there's signal that passes from my TCM to my Brake Light Switch.. (Also verified if there was a flood to my TCM, but there isn't , and my TCM responds well to my ECM)

Other problems i have are; I'm able to select every gear with my gear selector, when there's no key into the ignition switch (car isn't running) Thinking maybe it could be my N110 ( Shift Lock Solenoid ) that could be in fault, not so sure though.. Asking for advice! Btw: could that relate to my Tiptronic issue ? When i pass to Tiptronic Mode, it simply doesn't respond.. it indicates that i'm in Drive.. and it won't shift up or down.. The stick actually moves up and down.. but doesn't shift the gears.. (guessing that could be my magnets that are either unglued, or demagnetized, or my N110 that would cause all the issues..)

So i'm asking you guys if you know, any possible solutions/idea's to my problem! Thanks!

Voisard.

Hook your vag Com back up & see what faults you have in the TCM.
That would be a good start.

M5S5 , Thanks, but as you see, the 00526 code is the only code i got out,in every module ... It appeared in my TCM.

IIRC; 00526 only appears in the TCM aswell .

Anyone else?

Replaced the brake light switch , reset faults & see what happens.

Like i said before M5S5 , My Brake Light Switch isn't the cause of my problems.. the Switch sends and recieves data well. And a Brake Light Switch can't cause my tiptronic problems ..

Anyone else ?

If the problem you are trying to solve is the 00526 code, then like M5S5 said, it is the brake light switch. Either the switch itself, or a wiring problem relating to the switch itself. No other condition will give you that specific fault code, and only that fault code.

For your tiptronic problems, the first thing you should check, as you already stated, is the shift magnets.

good luck

Lol, i stated that 00526 was the only code i found.. and not the cause of my problems. If you look at Ross-Tech link --> 00526 - Ross-Tech Wiki It clearly states under note, that this code, is more then likely to be ignored.
