C7 A6 Missed 1-2 Shift
Ok - looking for feedback here...
have a 2012 A6 3.0T - APR Stage 2 tune.
While rounding a wet corner, shifting 1-2 in manual mode - the trans failed to make the shift into 2 and the engine over reved. I got a Gearbox Malfunction message on dash - said to pull over immediately.
I pulled over and it told me I could now drive. Put the car in D and it would not go. I shut it off and then restarted and everything seemed fine.
My question is - what could cause this condition on what was a perfectly functioning car/trans?
What I am really looking for is the answer to the question "How does the trans shift?"
Engine - throttle gets cut
Trans - computer does this and that...
How could the trans miss the shift, leaving it essentially in neutral?
Trans has 37k miles on it - and I was going to service the fluid. Wondering if I could have a bad servo?
Solid feedback would be greatly appreciated!
