Default Cam. Adjuster seals/oil leak

So, not to long ago it seems my cam. aduster seals went bad and I would loose oil all the time, esp. if I drove the car fast or at high speeds. The dealer then confirmed this, and said that it is a $1200 repair.

Last month I switched over to Castrol Syntec full synthetic 5W-30, and as of today it has been a month. My engine has still retailed 100% of its oil! I am amazed, usually when I did just one high speed run and I came home my car would have lost some oil but in this month i've been doing a lot of driving and many high speed runs and yet I have no leaks.

I just wanted to pass this on to everyone, my car is a 2000 2.8 Quattro. Even if you're not turbo synthetic oil is always a good choice.

Yes synthetic is a good choice. But don't ever buy the synthetic blend. Its roughly only about 10% synthetic and the rest regular oil for a price that is way too much.
