Can I substitute tranny fluid?? $23 per liter at stealership

Is there a tranny fluid that I can get from a parts store that will perform the same (or better) than the Audi German fluids....?

I have an 03 A6 2.7....using G 052 162 A2 fluid.

I wouldn't put anything but the Audi fluid in my trans.

I would stick with OEM and consider yourself lucky that you don't have a C6. The OEM fluid at the stealer is nearly $90 liter.

Mobil 1 ATF BEATS the German fluid according to ZF. Pentosin only meets the standard duty specs, Mobil 1 meets both the standard and commercial duty specs..

Looks like Pentosin fell off the list...

Mobil is on this list & the tougher TE-ML 14..

Mobile 1 is commonly used among the e46 bmw owners with the same TIP tranny as our beloved C5 A6's.

I have generic esso fluid in mine, put in by a local tranny shop. They will sell it to you in quarts for cheap.
