Default Catalytic converter question

I checked under the hood and it says that the car meets 2001 california emissions. I live in PA and bought it out here, so I was wondering if I had to get cats that meet california emissions or not. Its a 2001 A6 4.2l Quattro. Cats are rattling and I'm having a real hard time finding cats that meet california emissions. Any help would be highly appreciated.

no u dont need cats that meet cali emissions testing lol, they put that on there bc my understanding is, cali has a stricter and "harder" emissions test then we do here on the east coast (i live in ct) so it doesnt matter if ur in PA as long as u got cats on the car, u will pass, so go with whatever u can find that fits ur car

Default Thank you

Thanks so much. I think I found a good seller but he's on ebay with aftermarket cats. $450 with $35 shipping for two. They're made by a company called Catco and it bolts on. Seller got really good reviews from selling this previously so I think I'll go for it.
