Default check engine light

i have 2001 A6 2.7 biturbo
i recently serviced transmission and within a week check engine light came on
i don't recalled the code but it explain "lock-up clutch coupling no power transmission" within torque convertor
car is driving fine. no shifting problem and no gas milege dropping.

mechanic checked fluid level and everything seems to be fine.
it is just driving me insane....

Did you fill it to the proper level with the correct fluid? That code refers to a failure in the lockup torque converter. If the solenoid is working ok and fluid is ok your gonna need a new torque convereter.

It will effect gas milage during cruise situations. It can also damage the transmisiion. The torque converter has some slippage. The lockup eliminates that slippage causing all engine power to be transfered to the transmission. It also reduces heat builtup in the torque converter.
