Default Christmas came early

Just picked up the 6 T from the exhaust shop.

I went with 2.5" straight pipe to two magnaflow 5X8 ovals. No center muffler and decided to keep the tips hidden (downturns).

So, overall I'm happy. It may be a little loud for me, but I'll see what happens after a few hundred miles.

Idle is nasty! No drone in low rpms and its quite sutle when crusing on the highway.

Is it possible that I could lose power from opening up the exhaust?
For some reason it just doesn't seem to pull as hard as before. Maybe, I am just focusing my attention on the new sweet exhaust note.

I'm currently running GIAC, piggies, and 2.5" cat back.
Before, I had GIAC, piggies, and stock cat back.

I'll post some pics and video tomorrow

What are your thoughts on opening up the exhaust and lose of power.
Mutually exclusive events? Hope so!

Someone put 2.5" cat back on a 2.8 and lost power, but it seems like 2.5" is the usual for 2.7T's. You are probably too focused on the sweet sweet music coming from your car
Enjoy! look forward to seein pics and video!

I also put a custom 2.5" from the cats back but the only dif is my magnaflows are 4 inch diameter round, and they are hidden. I receive nothing but compliments from people who hear my car. I doubt you lost any power, the exhaust only flows are fast as its most constrictive point, which unless you have highflow cats is probably it. And like you said its not too lud at cruising speed but when takeing off and at slow speeding up it is loud. Not all you need is to get a k&n panel filter and drill some holes in the air box to get some more airflow for that losened up exhaust :-P or a nice intake, although i heard those suck in alot of hot air, even though it would probably sound nice

Being the **** retentive person that I am; I switched to stock mode before letting go of the car to the exhaust shop. So, I drove around all last night w/ the car in stock mode. Honestly, I was pretty happy with it then.

However, when I woke up this morning the first thing that I did was plug in the flashloader and what do you know, son-of-a-bitch, it was in stock mode the whole time.

Needless to say, I took a mental health day from work today and am loving the sh%t out of this.

Haha, nice! That may explain it feeling a lil slow. Id run valet if I had it for dropping the car off, no one else needs to drive it hard... thats my job
