Default Clutch AND flywheel

Hello everyone,

I'm in the UK and have owned my 1999 A6 2.4 V6 petrol Avant for 2 years.

The car is fantastic, but at 105000 miles the clutch has gone. The mechanic tells me it's also recommended to replace the dual-mass flywheel at the same time. This is going to double the cost of the job as the flywheel alone costs £500 pounds. He tells me if I don't the car may judder when stationary and it may cause other problems.

Audi recommend a replacement - but they would wouldn't they!!!

Does anyone have any advice or opinion?

Thanks

Kev simpson.

Only replace the flywheel if its damaged. Otherwise just get a new clutch and pressure plate and put those in.
