Default Control Arms

I've got loose front control arms on my 2000 A6 2.7T. The two uppers on the driver side. I was planning on doing all of them on the front, but had questions. Could I (should I) replace just those two? Should I get a control arm kit like from VAST? Would replacing the bushings with a kit like the one from Blauparts.com fix the problem, or do the arms structurally wear out? If so, could I replace the bushings with reasonable ease and are there special tools for the job? I have mechanical experience. Thanks

The ball joints wear out and you need to replace the arm to replace the ball joints. I would try replacing just the uppers to see if that solves the problem. Stay away from teh Chinese controls arms offered on ebay!

Besides the Chinese parts, what are the other options?
Who might supply others?

Meyhle and some Italian company. Check out ECS Tuning or BlauParts. For the difference in price, I would go with the Meyhle units.
