My original tires on my 2004 A6 are coming up on 37K so I'm starting to think about my next move. I want to use the OEM 5 spoke 17" wheels to mount some snow tires on for 2008-09 winter, but this summer when it's time to get new tires/wheels, I need a plan. I'm into the OEM style/look so I'm liking the idea of running the 18" RS4 wheels, but what tire? My A6 is black and like anyone else, I am curious as to what it will look like. In addition, if I do the 18" RS4 wheels (or replica thereof), how exposed is the brake caliper, does it need cleaned up or painted? I do not want to get into dropping it (my previous ride was a Land Rover Discovery II with a 4" lift) as it becomes extremely difficult to sell and work on.

Overall just looking for a larger wheel/tire combo, while keeping it clean looking with no other mods.

Experience matters, and I'm guessing there is someone around here who can steer me in a direction.
