CV joint / axle replacement
Hello,
Yes Newbie to Audi forum. I will make it short.
I need to replace both front outer cv joints on myquattro and am not sure if I should replace the whole axle shaft assemblies or justthe cv joints. And where is the best/cheapest place to buy either.
Thank you for your comments.

RE: CV joint / axle replacement
Get rebuilt axles assemblies. (AutoZone among others have them) Outer CV joint by them selves run around $125 and then you have to install them on the axle.A rebuilt axle runs about $135, takes less time to install, andyou get all new boots.
Don't believe the guys that tell you it can be done without popping the lower ball joint. It can be done but you have to hammer the crap out of it and takea chance of hurting other things.

Thanks for the replies.
I have found exactly what your saying. The price of the axle joint is about the same price as a new/rebuilt complete axle. I have tried the local autozone, but said they can not get it. I will try again.
Thanks again.
