i have a 1997 a6 the indicator lights for the shifter do not light up it is there but very faint.is there a bulb that lights them or is something wrong in the dash? the odometer also is not light if any one could help please let me know what to do Thanks David

 

I assume you already checked this, but is the brightness dial turned all the way up.

 

yes all of the other dash lights work fine Just the display for the gear postion and odometer do not light up Thanks David

 

I think you are talking about the display on the dash as appose to the ones by the shifter its self. I would say that it is the cluster its self if the rest of the displays are OK.

I would send it to BBA reman or Madule masters to have it reconditioned that would probably fix it.
