hey guys, I am looking at the 2001 A6 4.2 with only 71k miles. The seller ask for $14k (which is way below kbb), is this a good deal for this year and miles? exterior/interior look new and engine run smooth..no leak or noise..normal maintenance..any input? thanks

 

4.2 is bullet-proof. If properly taken care of, it can last well 200,000. My friend's 2002 4.2 has 165K on it, and there is no problem with motor. However, he just replaced thefront suspension.Go for it. See, if you can get the price dropped by another $500-1K, or else, just buy it. Good luck.

 

And bear in mind you'll be looking at a costly timing belt service in 20K or so miles.

FWIW, I'd probably part with my '02 4.2 (115K, updated dash, visible exhaust and some mild enhancements) for that price..Talk about WAY under book!
