I'm currently looking for an 03 2.7T with 6-speed manual and have noticed that all the 03's have a tri-spoke steering wheel like my A4 which I love. I have not seen this in an 04. I thought if the car had the sport option it had a tri-spoke steering wheel. do none of the 04's have a sport suspension option?

All 2.7T 04s have the sport suspension (as do the 03s). The interior components of the sport theme (seats) were a separate option.

Not sure what's up with the steering wheel though... I have the 01 sport package but it has a four spoke multi-function steering wheel. Don't know if I've ever seen a three spoke wheel that has the multifunction (stereo/phone/etc.) feature. That may have something do to with what you're seeing.

 

Thanks, that helps. I just don't like the look or feel of the 4 spoke. I don't care about having controls on the steering wheel. Not sure why it matters so much.

 

Wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't "drive" my iPod through it. I change tracks and adjust volume without taking my hands off the wheel. Nice when I'm driving hard and want to stay focused.

 

That's funny, I normally don't change tracks and adjust volume when I'm driving hard.

 

That's because you don't have steering wheel controls. :^) (I do this within reason of course -- full-on hard driving has the radio off -- NO distractions)
