Question Diverter Valves Problem/Question

I have a 2004 A6 S-Line. I took it to the shop and afterwards notice that I had no power.

I checked my engine and noticed that my diverter valves are broke. On the valves, the small tips are broke off and the small hoses that should be clamped to those tips are plugged up, one hose was plugged up and I put electrical tape on the other hose just because the other hose is plugged.

I order 2 valves, but my question is: How long can I drive with the hoses plugged up. Basically I have to drive my car. What problem will it cause in the long run, basically untill my valves come in. Am I looking and turbo failure?

I would say just a decrease in power and fuel mileage, you should be ok just get the new ones on as soon as possible.

I ordered 2 last night. (2 for $60 thats with shipping) I saw some for $130+. Are all Diverter Valves the same far as the function of the valves. I know you got spring vs rubber...do they work the same?

If I were you I would get the replacement stock DV's or the 710N Audi TT upgrades. What kind of DV's did you order?

A set of polished aluminium finish ones from ebay. They come with 2 extra springs ($60), I think the 710N's were around the price for 1. Thats why I asked if price mattered.....because its coming from ebay.

Did you make sure that the auction was for 2 diverter valves? Make sure that it dosen't specify that the 2.7 engine requires 2. That's a big indicator that you need to purchase two of the items. As far as EBay goes you should be alright, I purchased my 710N's from there a little less then a year ago and so far no problems. Like I said though, make sure you are getting two.

Yea, I know I need 2. The ad said "a set" which in real life means 2, but in e-bay world who knows. I'll wait in see when they get here. I didn't want to order 2 sets and get 4 valves.....know what i'm sayin

Question: If only 1 comes in, can I go to a parts store and get these valves or only from the deal and on-line?

I doubt you will find theese valves at an auto parts store. Best bet would be to just purchase a second from the same place.
