do better plugs make a real difference?

Jim, indeed I would be a hypocrite to complain about the mpg
On the other hand, if I could find the noise source in that driver side bank I would be so much happier. Three more weeks left and I'll be able to concentrate on it.

i really dont want to pay 25 bucks for 1 plug... yea they work good but 150 for 6 plugs just isnt worth it... you guys said the bosch plat 4 are good... so all i do is buy them in swap them out? no gapping needed? ive never used anything like this b4 so i want to b sure b4 i mess it up. and youve had no issues with mis firing or anything like that? also what would be better irridium or the platinum?

i looked up my 3.2 06 on sparkplugs.com and it does not have the plat 4 as an option... does this mean that it wot work for my car? they have autolite xp irridium, autolite double platinum, plustars and e3 plugs.... idk if those are any good but those are the only options given to me

Trini,
Typically all the platinum plugs with at least two side electrodes don't need to be gapped. You just swap them, indeed.
I purchased mine from Ariz Autohaus when getting a bunch of parts I needed, but AutoZone suppose to have them. hOLD ON...
Oh yeah... They don't list the +4 for your 3.2L, but you can safely use them.
Part number: 4417. $ 5.99
The NGK -Ix - Iridium (Jack is talking about) = Part Number: 6418 ; $ 6.99
Bosch-Iridium-Fusion / Spark Plug - Part Number: 4503; $ 7.99
Ngk-Gp-Platinum / Spark Plug - Part Number: 7092 ; $2.99
I would personally stay away from Autolite, but if you can get them in Irridium they may be worth trying.
* The Pulstars are $ 50/pair at AutoZone too...

speaking of changing plugs...i've never done them myself...is it as easy as just removing the coil pack and changing them out? is their anything else I need to do, or be careful of, so that i do not damage the engine or shock/kill myself in the process? thanks

So, am I reading that all three of these perform about the same? So why not buy the least expensive? Q2 - How often do you change plugs? I went 67k on my second set and they looked good (per the shop) when replaced, and the third set now has 44k miles on them.
