Car- 2001 A6 2.8 FWD Auto
Was expereincing a terrible metal on metal clanging sound when I drove over any size bump in the road. With the windowns down the noise was so bad it made me want to turn around and get it to a garage ASAP. Also when going in Reverse and applying the brakes I got another metal on metal clang sound as if something big moved. Car went to Audi they say its the brake pads????? Now about 2 months ago I replaced all the brakes with Brembo rotors and PBR pads with no problems. The car did have new motor moutns installed around the same time at the dealership. Has anyone had or heard of anything like this before. I would imagine I would feel something in the brakes if they were moving this much. The car drives ok with no loss in steering or ride. Please Help!!!!!

 

I would be checking those mounts and the breaks for loose bolts
