Default Driver side, rear engine oil leak - 2001 4.2L A6

Hi Guys

Combing over the forums but can't find an exact or direct answer.

I have a decent leak coming from a 2001 4.2L A6 I just got.

- I pulled all the covers off and moved the coolant reservoir to peer down. I then cleaned up the entire area and the underside to see where it was coming from.

I drove for a bit and started to see fresh light coloured smoke from under the hood. Got back home and found there was fresh oil at the back bottom corner of the valve cover gasket, but also higher up to the top of the cover.

The cam cap doesn't appear to be leaking, neither does the valve cover gasket.

What is at the top rear of the driverside valve cover that could leaking?

I would think the cover gasket. How many miles on it and has it been changed? I seem to recall replacing mine at 100,000 and 122,000 when the cam tensioner plastic broke apart.
