Default Dual Exhaust?

If I purchase aftermarket mufflers, will a local muffler shop install and cut bottom of bumper to fit and to show off new mufflers?

Thats really going to depend on the shop that you take it to, but I've seen people try to cut the factory setup for a dual tiped exhaust and they all went bad. It wont match-up well. Your better off buying an aftermarket peice that already is equipped for a dual set-up. Sorry no links, just google it, or e-bay.

Actually, lots of folks have cut the bumper of their 1998-2001 C5 A6. If done right, it can look good. Better than spending $500+ on a newly repainted 2002+ bumper. See my links below for what I did (of course, I had to get rear-ended to get the 2002+ bumper).

And as always....search the C5 A6 forum on audiworld.com. Lots have done this.....lots of advice/pix/thoughts to view. Enjoy!
