Yeah on a flathead V8 on a 51 Ford.
I am getting a suspicious feeling that you wouldn't like the sound on your 4.2...
You will probably get CEL if you put it before the converters. (If you can find some room that is.) If you put it after the coverters, I doubt that you will get any performance benefit.
While at it, put some flame throwers too
