Default electric folding mirrors

2004 A6 S-Line. 55.9K miles. Folding mirrors stopped working the other day. The other mirror electrical adjustments work fine. Did search on this forum as well as the other Audi forums (Audizine, Audi-forums, Audiworld). There are some semi-related hits, but my specific questions are:

1. Where is the fuse for this feature? I found the one for electric mirrors on the drivers side dashboard fuse box. I do not have a passenger side dash fuse box although I do have the panel that pops out. No fuse box though.

2. I do not hear the motors whirring so thinking that it is the fuse. Other option would be motor, but not sure why that motor would fail. I did take the car through the carwash a few times over the past three weeks. I did not fold the mirrors in while running it through, so not sure if the mechanism could have been damaged. Perhaps just got wet and needs to dry out?

Not having a great first experience with this car in my first month of ownership. Thanks in advance.

If the mirror adjustments work fine I would live with it. I think I have folded my mirrors twice since 2005. Given you own an older OOOO, you will soon have bigger problems to worry about than a feature you never use.

I am finding out how accurate your prognostication is. Now I noticed tha the Airbag light is lit whenever someone sits in the rear seating area. Was sporadic at first, and now I think it is fairly consistent. Why did I not get these sorts of comments when I was looking at reviews for C6 A6s before I bought the car? On the other hand, I also was not too enamored with my Subaru Legacy when I bought it new 11+ years ago. Now I swear it is the best most reliable car ever made (215k miles and still going strong). Hoping that I will like the Audi as much once I get all of the maintenance issues sorted out.

Still, if anyone has any suggestions about the folding mirror matter, let me know.

Well, just as suddenly as it stopped working, it has started working again. Weird car.

Audis grow on you, like a really sexy girlfriend who periodically cheats on you. You put up with the little idiosyncracies because you love the ride when it's there.
