Does anyone know where I can go on the net here to get some specs on my engine a 2000 4.2 V8. In the a6 I want to find out the compression, Cyl. arrangement, things like that.

 

Hi, I don't know where you would get that information other than in a service manual like, "Bentley".

It probably wouldn't hurt if you tried using a search engine like Google or Yahoo and keying in certain keywords like, "A6", "Audi 4.2", or "Audi 4.2 Engine". It would probably take a bit of searching, but I'm sure something is posted here on the Web.

 

I did try all those on Google and came up with nothing, Bummer! Was hoping someone here might know of something else.

go to car-part.com and look up an oilpan,head,exhaust manifold,block or something, find a facility that has anything for that engine, if their close to you ask them if you could tear down the motor yourself, if they let you you'll learn a TON about it.
