Anything is possible given enough time and $$$$$.

Why not put in a Chevy Big block with a blower?

But the easier answer is no. The engines are pretty much made to fit like a glove inside the engine compartment for each individual engine, so to swap an engine of different size would mean a TON of body modification, different wiring, different exhaust/intake, etc.

So unless you want to spend more money than it would be to buy a 4.2 in the first place, again the answer is no.

I second the idea of a big block with a blower. A 350 would probably fit with considerable work. Then you could install a twin screw that sticks out the hood

Thanks I was looking for a lil more power to put in my a6 I love the way a v8 sounds compared to the v6 I have. I like the body style of the audi I just wanted to get rid of the v6 and make my car loud. I really dont know much about cars im just trying to learn a lil more about what I can do to my car to make it a lil faster and a lot louder.

You sound like my son.. He once bought a yugo witht he idea that he could put a VW motor in it to make it a sleeper. When he figured out how much work it would be we ended up with an extra VW and Yogo in theyard for a few months.

We finally got rid of the Yugo when we went looking for a gas cap. We asked the guy at the parts counter if we could get a gas cap for the Yugo and he said that it sounded like a fair deal.

LMFAO WHAT!!!

What did you do to the yugo?

Oh, and if you want a loud car EZE, straight pipe the exhaust and put glass packs on it. You will sound like a red neck 4x4

you know this MAY not be such a stretch .... If that car came with that engine in that year it may be just a drop in . of course It may need the exhaust to go with it . The problem may lie in the upgraded brakes and suspension to go with it . I would not dismiss it without a little research into what is involved.
MAy turn out as many point out not to be financially feasbale given what these cars are worth ( or not worth) today .. but does sound like an interesting project.

FYI, start a new thread...

As for the answer to your question, what kinds of codes are you getting? Is it ECM related or TCM related?
