error code P1479 on A6 2001 2.7T
Today I connected a VAG com to my car, eveb though dont see any check engine light yet, got a intermittent faliure code P1479 - Intermittent, "17887 - Brake boost vacuum system:Mechanical Faliure".
can some one please translate it for me into a more detailed description. Has any one else seen this on their car?

Can't help you personally, but this is what the Bentley says for that code:
- Perform a short trip in Engine Control Module (ECM) (basic setting; display group 8 with ignition on and selector lever in "P" or "N")
- Check hose setup to pump or from pump to brake booster
- Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) in Engine Control Module (ECM) to check whether vacuum pump runs or is activated
- Perform a short trip in Engine Control Module (ECM) (basic setting; display group 8 with ignition on and selector lever in "P" or "N")
