Default European plate

I have a 2001 A6 2.7t and I want to put a European license plate on the front. Right now I have a regular plate frame with the four rings in the middle mounted to the car. When I buy a European plate how should I mount it? Do I need a plate frame? I also don't really want to drill more holes in my bumper, but I want to mount the plate the right way. Any advice is greatly appreciated thanks.

One could wish we have more questions as yours on the forum.
This is what makes the forum fun and atractiive for all ages.

On the question:
- copy an existing mount setup from a fellow driver (unless there is nobady else to consult)
- visit a specialized plate installing place to do the right job for you
---........
- or you could do the effort and put your brains at work - the average time to devise a mounting setup is 2-3min.
