Default Everlasting keys configuration-programming problem

2003 A6
I have one operational key only – the master key (FOB?).
I obtained: - second master key (used body, blank blade, replaced chips) - emergency key (no buttons, blank blade)
The "Odyssey" is due to dealers pricing, as many already know:
$280 for hardware
$160 for programming
I have difficulties to understand the whole picture of configuring - programming a new key.
There is a procedure for resetting the key in my owner’s manual:
-To synchronize press button “Lock” or “Unlock” on the remote control one time
- Then within thirty seconds lock or unlock the driver’s door with the master key.
I'd assume it is intended for existing key synch with the car.Is it applicable for a new key configuration?

1.Are there ireversable damages that could be done to the new key or to the old key?
2.Are there a cases when the old key gets nonoperational?
3.Is the programming for the remote only or the immobilizer gets configured as well?
4.What is the procedure to configure a completely new key?
5.How the memory slots are allocated?
6.Which memory slot takes the existing, operational key- first slot?
7.What is the procedure to configure the emergency key?

This is the common procedure from many sources:
Please get me some clarifications?

KEY PROGRAMING:
NOTE-obtain and program all keys! (max4 keys at a time!).
-Switch ignition on. Use key not fitted with remote control.
This must be the new master key-destination key (not the emergency key that lacks remote by default)
-Manually lock driver's door using key.
Using the old key (source key)?
-Complete the following within 30 seconds:
-Within 5 seconds press UNLOCK button on first key once (programs memory position 1).
This must be the new key?
Is it not the first memory position taken by the existing, operational, source master key?
-Wait 5 seconds. -Press unlock button once to confirm programming.
Using the new key?
-Vehicle unlocks. Programming mode deactivated.
-Switch ignition off. Remove key.

-To program remaining keys into memory 2,3 and 4, carry out the complete procedure below for each key. -Switch ignition ON, Use key not fitted with remote control, -Manually lock driver's door using key -Within 5 seconds press UNLOCK button at 1 second interval as follows: -TWICE for memory position 2(second key) -THREE times for memory position 3(3rd key) -FOUR times for memory position 4. -Indicators lamp flash once every time UNLOCK button is pressed, to indicate signal -WAIT 5 seconds. -Press UNLOCK button once to confirm programming. -Vehicle unlocks. Programming mode deactivated. -Switch ignition OFF and REMOVE key. NOTE: ignition must be switched off between each key programming procedure. Please follow as instructed and it should work.

Any hints and clarifications are greatly appreciated!
Thank you

Dave,

I have not started yet with programming.
I'd like to grasp the whole picture with the configuration aspects.
I have one master key and 2 other (new) keys(folding and non-folding)
------
What is the memory slot for the master key I have?
Programming the 3 button key - does the remote gets programmed only or the remote and ithe mmobilizer as well?
Should I start with memory slot 1 or two?
Where the new key goes - to the ignition?
Which buttons are pressed - on the new key or on the existing master key?
How to program a key w/o remote?

Thx,
Dobby

Some revelations and discoveries lately should shed light on the topic.

1. All previously discussed methods of reprogramming relate to the REMOTE part only.
(the procedure is described in the owners manual)
2. The immobilizer part of reprograming could be done ONLY by dealers as they can obtain The 7-digit PIN/SKC (Secret Key Code).

Shortly- a new key should involve dealers...
Audi dealers - $120 for any number of keys (at once); hardware (key) -$280.
VW dealers charge key-$90, reprog-$90.
I see no other options..
