exterior differences between 2.8 and 4.2
I'm two months when i get my licence back I'm going to be purchasing a audi a6 I'm sure its goin to be a 2.8 because of the lower price. But I plan on putting the 18'5 spoke rs4 rims on it and then maybe lower it right away. But I havne't seen any pics or have any ideal what it would look like all I've seen is pics of 4.2's so I wanted to kno what would be the difference between them.

RE: exterior differences between 2.8 and 4.2
Consulting my crash parts database, these are the main exterior parts that differ between the 2.8's and the 4.2's:
Bumper cover
Hood
Fenders
Wheels
Quarter panels
Rear bumper cover.
.
In other words, if you want your Audi to LOOK like a 4.2, get a 4.2.

It's a wider stance and the fenders are much more flared which gives the 4.2 a more aggresive look. I'm pretty sure all the 4.2's come with the blades for the bottom of the doors? I think the whole car looks different.

Checked. Yes - passenger compartment floor pan has different part #'s for V-6; V-8 models. I think the difference would be in the tunnel area. I don't think the whole body shell is wider in the V-8 cars, though. If it were, the windshield would be different. It's not. Neither is roof.

Ok thanks for all of the information. But do u think there would be a big difference in looks between the two with the 18's and the springs. I've only really seen the 4.2s with the 5spoke rs6's. It would be really helpful if anyone had any pics
