Absolutely correct! If it is oiled properly, there should not be a problem. I have been using mine for about 20K and its been perfect!
OOOO
In regards to the MAF, will I get an error or is this something that just NEEDS to be done?
I did "dab" the K&N with a paper towel before putting it in as I read that in a previous post.I did not see any excessive oil on the paper towel so I just threw it in without a second guess. I haven't seen/heard any issues.
Although, as it was PARKed in the garage, I stepped on the gas to get it up to 3.5-4kRPMs then let off.Right as I do that and before the RPMs rise there is not even a half of a second suck noise. Like air is being sucked in. Is this normal? Or can anyone with a 4.2 try the same thing and see if they can replicate? I never really did this before I replaced the air filter, so I don't know if this is SOP or not. I don't really want to put the old filter back in to see as it is a minor PITA.
Any help is appreciated.
