I went to go check out a A6 3.0 2003 with 33k miles on it for $16k.

Things seemed all right for a 4 year old car but when I pulled the dip stick out, near the end but not quite the end, there was some weird black flaky crap. It didn't quite look like oil sludge but there was a large amount of it there... what is that?

 

I would say prolly some oil sludge? Maybe do a complete oil change (Drain the oil) and then see if u can find any good additives that actually work. Becareful though cause some additives is like simply dumping water into ur engine.

 

Didn't buy it, just curious what it was.
