Default Front end vibration

Re: 2000 A-6 2.7 Turbo
Between the highway speeds of 60 & 80 mph, I get a slight front end vibration that I can feel in the steering wheel.
I have attempted balancing the front wheels and the vibration is still there.
Also, under moderate braking at this same speed range, the vibration becomes exagerrated and feels almost like the ABS is activated but it is not the ABS.
Could it be that one or more of the brake rotors is warped or pulsating or is it wheel balance?
Also, how difficult is it to remove the rotors without taking the car back to Audi?
Thank you for any input,
Kurt

Have you tried getting the car aligned? That could be the problem. It's not supposed to be very difficult to get the rotors off. Do a search and you should be able to find plenty of DIY stuff.

Could also be a bad CV joint. Check for lots of greese inside the wheel and wheel-well.

The CV joints were a problem and we had them replaced this past June.
Is there any way to check disc rotor runout without a gauge since I do not have a too;/gauge that mesures that?

No , I was not able to determine the source of the vibration and the Audi dealer said they cannot drive the car at speed to experience the viabration. It happens between 65-80 and then disappears over 80. Since they can't experienc eit they don't know what it is other than use a shotgun approach and replace everything. Hardly my idea of auto repair.

I am not sure what to check or look for.
I am not familiar with Audi's at all; I can tell you every nut and bolt on my 68 Corvette (did a frame up restoration of it) but I am clueless as regards the Audi.
Are you saying check it for looseness, because I did that but just because I can't wobble it doesn't mean that the car can't when it is going 80

It's probably your front control arms. They are known to go bad after time and when they do you'll get a vibration in the steering wheel as well as balding of the tires because you can't keep the car aligned with bad control arms. I'm having mine done next month or so.
