Fuel warning? when does it show?
Hi , I recently bought a 2003 Audi A6. My tank holds around 18.5 gallons of fuel. Does anybody know at what level of the tank would i see the "Fuel Warning" on the display? I am trying to measure the mileage of my car.
Could anyone tell me whats the usual mileage for a 2003 Audi A6 Quattro?
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Blue

Mine comes on when the gauge is a little under an 1/8th of a tank.
But here is an idea, why don't you just drive until your gas warning comes on? Then you can know how to gauge it for your own car? lol Sorry but I had to say it man...

I get between 380-400 miles on the highway, using midrange octane. I usually fill it before the warning light comes on.I figure I have a little over a gallon when the light comes on - so about 20-30 miles. Normal fill-up after 380-400 miles is around 17-17.5 gallons.
I try and avoid running the gas tank that low under the old belief that crap on the bottom of the gas tank could get sucked into the fuel injectors. But that's why there is a fuel filter on the vehicle. I usually fill the car at around 1/4 tank to avoid the potential problem. Why take unnecessary chances?

Ok, ok....somewhere below 50 miles - I don't know for sure because it is a bad idea to let your fuel get that low, thus I don't let it drop below a quarter tank.
