Default gas on outside of sparkplug

Wife has A6Avant, starts fine, idles fine but when accelerating the car bucks. So I replaced Air filter and am in process of replacing plugs. I noticed gas on outside of all plugs when I removed them. I'm at a loss to see how gas could be on outside of plug. The car had been sitting all night before I started work on it. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not oil? Even if you poore gas there it should evaporate overnight especially on the hot engine.
I assume if there is no spart at a certain cyllinder, the plug might smell of gas when you take it out.

If there is gas you should notice that the plugs are not tight. I had the same problem I changed my plugs and didn't tighten one. The car bucked and I had gas on the plug that was not tight
